Creating the logo for the SaharaHex site and its projects.
First: Naming the Project I wanted a name that was both interesting and linked to computing. This took some time. After several attempts, I settled on “Sahara” for its connection to the vast North African desert. I wanted a shape that complemented the name and had a coding association.
“SaharaHexagon” that could work. It combines the vastness of the Sahara desert with the geometric style of a hexagon.
Imagine a hexagonal grid stretching across the desert sands, each vertex representing an oasis or a hidden treasure. Making coding as adventurous as exploring the dunes.
Simplify: I shortened it to “SaharaHex,” a name that hints at both hexadecimal and hexagonal concepts, covering the best of both worlds.
Logo Design: With the name confirmed, I moved on to the fun part: designing the logo. Started with pencil sketches to explore basic ideas. Then, I added some colour to see what worked best. Narrowed it down to two final designs: one featuring yellow and the other dark blue. So it can be use it on different backgrounds.
